The Falcata Sword is often described as one of the most devastating swords that the Romans ever fought against. And looking the blade, it's not hard to see why, as it utilizes a forward-curving blade design thats proven to be incredibly effective. The falcata was originally suspected to have been the weapon of choice of the Celts, who spread its use to the Iberian Peninsula, where the Romans encountered it. Like the falcata of old, this weapon features a forward-curving blade that puts more weight and mass near the tip of the sword, which allows this weapon to deliver devastating blows that cleave cleanly through all but the strongest of materials. Historically, its cutting strength was so impressive that the Romans were forced to reinforce their own shields, as well as re-design their armor and weapons. Unlike the historic weapon, though, this model features a single-edged blade forged from high carbon spring steel. Adorning the blade is a connected double fuller that helps lighten the blade somewhat. It also features an all-brass grip that curls around the wielder's hand, providing a modicum of protection as well as a superb grip. The weapon measures approximately 28 inches long and includes a scabbard for storing this blade when not in use.
